A Gothic Legend Brought to Life in Phoenix

Edgar Allen Poe is one of the most prolific and horrific writers of American history, writing short stories and poems that reflect some of humanity’s darkest sides along with a macabre sense of supernatural power. It’s hard to find any person who hadn’t encountered at least one of Poe’s stories, whether in their personal library at home or as required reading in grade school. With Halloween right around the corner, there’s no better time to celebrate the twisted works of Poe right here in our luxury Phoenix apartments at The Ingleside.

The Arizona Curriculum Theater is hosting its eleventh running of PoeFest, a stage production of several of Poe’s most infamous stories. From October 4th all the way to Halloween night, each weekend will feature live performances of dark fantasy and horror, including The Tell-Tale Heart, The Cask of Amontillado, The Masque of the Red Death, and more. In addition, a special spooky séance will be performed at night to try to invoke the spirit of Poe himself, right at Phoenix’s most haunted hotels. Finally, a live reading of “The Raven,” Poe’s well-renown poem of death and gloom, will be hosted every twenty minutes on Halloween from 7:30-9:30p. It’s the perfect event for literature lovers, thespians, or those looking for a great way to celebrate the scariest month of the year. Their main performance attraction, the Hotel San Carlos, is only eight miles from our luxury apartments, a mere twenty-minute drive.

Quoth the Raven, “nevermore” here at The Ingleside. Explore our luxury apartments in Phoenix and buy your tickets to see the PoeFest this October.
